Should I let my professors know that I have IBS?

I've had IBS since I was 16 and it has been absolutely horrible for the past month. I can't even hang out with friends because it is so bad. I have to run to the bathroom every hour and I'm getting sick of it. I just got out of a really abusive relationship and its been effecting me so I think that is whats triggering it. Because of the IBS I've had to skip a lot of class which means I haven't been able to turn in any homework either. I'm going to my professors office hours today to tell them whats been going on but I'm not sure if I should divulge all of the information. What do you think?

I would very much like to join the US Navy. I was filling out my SF-86 form for secret clearance, and there is a section that states to mark "no" for any inpatient or outpatient counselling if it involves family, grief or marital issues and is not violent/court ordered. This is NOT the case on the DD forms that MEPS uses. My recruiter insisted that if I divulge the records surrounding my 3-day voluntary stay at a psych counselling center that they will deem me unfit for military service. I am highly intelligent, scored really high on the ASVAB (94) and have not had any recurring issues pertaining to job performance, every day stress, anxiety etc. I was not diagnosed with any kind of mood disorder or any behavioral issue, I simply needed to speak with someone who was trained and objective in helping me deal with very troubling family issues related to my mother's drug use and her abusive relationship situation. I guess it was depression but it was situational and not some chemical imbalance, and I checked myself in and out after completing the program. Hi guys, I am going through a break up... I think I need help with jealousy?

OK, so I'm a junior in high school and I'm considered an average student, I suppose. I see a lot more potential in me but my school work doesn't necessarily reflect that. I mean, I'm doing great in some classes, but I'm doing horrible in others. Specifically, geometry and Japanese. I hate math and I just cannot grasp the Japanese language. Will my doctor prescribe my good strong pain killers?

I've been having chronic headaches all day, every day. Normally the pain isn't so bad and I can deal with it but sometimes usually once every 2-3 days, I'll have a severe headache in which I can't open my eyes, can't think properly and I feel like throwing up, it's a lot of pain, I got stabbed once and it's equivalent to that amount of pain. Tylenol didn't do jack but Advil worked wonders for the small minor headaches but nothing for the major ones. Only citizens could vote, i.e. "free men". Men who composed the armies and took responsibility for their families and home were considered citizens. The reason females and slaves couldn't vote was because they didn't fight and die for the community like the males did. There was usually a council of 400 citizens in charge, which rotated every year (so you had a 50/50 chance of being elected onto the council). By the 400's, elections were done away with. You had something called "shame culture" which kept people in line through guilt/shame of bad behavior. If a crime was committed against someone, the family of the victim would round up the perp and drag them to the council for punishment (if they lived through the initial beating of course lol). I don't know if there could have been "leaders" because they were elected, not totalitarian. Like I said, government was a communal effort. Athens (and Sparta) has always been considered the weirdo Greek state which every other polis (community, not just a city-state) would shake their heads at. Mainly because it was a democracy (the worst form of government according to Plato) and freaking huge... oh and the Delian League. They kind pissed a lot of people off with that stunt.

Hi, I have very severe problem with accepting myself. I had a good character. I treated all people equally, i understood their views and always helped them (everyone i came across) out. I did only good. In other words, I didnt know what was the bad. I studied hard and entered the university. Here I behaved the same towards people. But here I learned envy, jealousy. I wasnt jealous but the other people were jealous of me. I dont know why. I didnt pay a single attention to their envy but wanted to help them, I wanted to make people cheerful, forget their malice and they did. But after years in my 3rd year of university I began to hate. i dont know why i hate and i hate to whom. I began hate the life itself. i began to hate the genetics. I began to hate the God. I began to hate the injustice. I was optimist and now my character is being reversed by the society by the life itself to the pessimist. After every good thing i did to everybody, i came across with the bad things did to me. I read many psychological books in order to understand the people and i did almost. after that i fell in love with a girl but didnt want her to know it because she was 1,85 cm while i am 1,82. I recently got out of the hospital for bulemia. My boyfriend broke up with me my third day in. Ive always had anxiety but now its getting worse. Im tired all the time but cant sleep without benydryl. When i wake up, my mom has to call me no less than 5 times. I cant function in school without needed to doze off. I have multiple axiety attacks a day and when they happen my heart beats so fast i can feel it in my ears and it feels like someone is poking me in the chest with a lit ciggerette. im on prozac, lamictal, and geodon. they gave me xanex and attivan in the hospital which helped alot but when i was discharged, they didnt give me a perscription so ive done without. getting through the day is equivalent to walking up to the gates of hell. i go back to my phyciatrist for a follow up from the hospital. what will he do for my anxiety?

I have been dating my boyfriend for 8 months...we have been on a romantic vacation together to Mexico, have spoken about getting married, and have looked into my moving to the city he is from. **DESPERATE** How can I get my pug to cooperate with nail trimming?

I have an 8 year old pug who will not allow us to clip her nails. She yelps, screams, wiggles, thrashes and is impossible to restrain(even by 2 adult men). We have had her since a puppy and it has been an escalating problem over time. We have tried to alter her bad habit by handling her paws daily, talking to her, toweling her, and giving her treats while trimming. For several years we were able to get the groomer to do it, but now they have to turn us away because they cannot trim her nails. We have tried oral sedative recommended by vet (I believe it was bendadryl). Even our vet has problems. They past two trims she required doggy equivalent of laughing gas.. and the last time they could only get her front nails. My manager gave every personal detail about an aspect of my personal life to a co-worker I have yet to meet. She even called me and asked me to give the girl advice after. It was a very personal issue that I do not tell people myself. It was completely unrelated to the workplace. Just something the manager knows from necessary paperwork for employment and her asking about it in the past. I live in North Carolina. Is there a law protecting my violating of privacy, and what can I do? This is just one issue I have with this employer.

Unusual problem with new water heater,any opinions?

i ran a service call in october 2008 for a no hot water complaint on a 2 or 3 day old rheem power vent natural gas water heater..model # 42VP4OFW....the problem turned out to be a large amount of "flakes" had come down off of the bottom of the tank and,or,the flueway..the flakes had actually bridged the gap between the flame sensing rod and the burner which causes the control module to lock out since it cant determine whether or not a flame is present when the gas valve is open.....i cleared the flakes,brushed the bottom of the tank,and blew compressed air up through the flueway with the power vent blower on and pressure switch disconnected....i called rheem tech support,they had no explanation but requested the homeowner mail them some of the flakes for them to analyze...the homeowner mailed the flakes so that the rheem rep had to sign for the package... the rep never got back to the homeowner even though the homeowner called several times,left messages,etc...the water heater has been fine since then,no trouble...wondering if anyone out there has run into a similar problem on a new water heater...did rheem have a problem with many of these water heaters or was this isolated?..was the factory rep too lazy to get back to homeowner,,or did he not want to divulge the problem if he even knows what it is..what caused the [large] flakes in a brand new tank?...thanks in advance for your answers...........dan

*Shrug* I guess that sums it up. I was feeling so close to him for a while there, then we had some talks and I'm just not feeling the spark anymore. The talks were on how I got a little upetty about him saying he would come see me then just up and going home instead. It was upsetting because he had asked me to divulge some of my past which hasn't been great, then got really really quiet for a while, then instead of coming he send a text and hour and half later saying he was just going home because it was late and he didn't want to bother me. Why do we take what insurance companies dish out?

I purchased and paid for an insurance policy from my credit card company for 5 years, so that if I lost my job they would make the payments. Now that I'm unemployed they are telling me I have to keep up the payments until they can determine if I'm eligible. Then the policy for only pay my credit card for 18 months. They did not say that when they were taking my money, sometimes we as consumers just lay down and take whatever the insurance companies dish out. I know of people with life insurance policies who have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars paying on policies. When they get sick and need the insurance the company refuses to pay. This is legalized injustice, just because they are not wearing a mask and holding a gun doesn't mean it is not highway robbery.

Churchgoers: What do you think about megachurches?

Do I count as a "churchgoer" if I go to the megachurch by my home only because it has a Starbucks inside it that is deserted during services? Because honestly, that is the only reason I go. I'm a non-Christian theist, but I do appreciate an over-priced cup of coffee and a cake pop in an empty coffee shop with free wifi from time to time. I'm hoping they get a Panera in there next. I have vast knowledge of an individual who sells heroin in our metro area of 400,000+ people. He will sell to anyone. I want this individual OFF THE STREETS OF THE TOWN I GREW up in, but this town has a high rate of retribution, and I don't want to die for it, but I suppose it would be a noble cause, to die almost as a martyr.... I understand the function that drug dealers serve. The have a job just like anyone else, but this one killed a friend of mine. He's willing to sell to me. Do I set up controlled buys with the police? Do I risk my life? Or do I stay silent and clench my teeth? I could always shoot him, but I don't want to go that way. That's the way so many people of this town have gone before and they've all ended up in prison. I won't do it. I just want to know how to solve this problem... It haunts me every day and I can't bring myself to do anything. I just need advice. The police in the town (all the cities are contiguous) are OK. I wouldn't call them trust-worthy, but I'd call them half-way honest. The thing is: if I go ahead with this, I want to be able to explain the situation to an EXPERIENCED Narcotics investigator, get his advice (with my lawyer present of course, and NOT in the police department. I'm talking like OVER LUNCH or something). I know he/she'll be recording the whole thing, so I have to watch what I say, but what this dealer has been doing HAS to come to an end in our city (it's actually the city my parents live in. I live a ways down the road). Obviously there are many, MANY more details, but they won't be divulged here. Any answers from the public, and especially law enforcement would be helpful... I know that my info is easily accessed, and thus, I am easily accessed. Fortunately I have dual citezenship, and it's not to Canada or Mexico. So, should things turn ugly, I can always flee the US. I've been dating a woman who is a devout christian and quite religious. I on the other hand am not. I beleive in God but I'm in no way a religious individual (read between the lines). Any way she tells me that she "wants a man that is pursuing God and wants a man that understands God and himself." she also told me how she sees it as a problem for a man (me) to "pursue money but not God"..... now here's my question.....I beleive in God, yes. But I also beleive in myself. I pray, yes. But I also do what I need to do to get what I need to get to go where I'm trying to go. The term "chasing money" she used to obviously describe how me and how I think, came from me telling my baby brother who spent his youth chasing girls and spending his money on impressing them which in turn put him in a lot of trouble. Why is it bad to eat moldy food, what kinds of food can you eat moldy, can you eat moldy sour cream?

like I know the question may sound obvious, but there are MANY foods that people don't drink unless the food has gone moldy or equivalent; examples are Kombucha, Kefir, Blue Cheese and wine. I have some sour cream that just has a LITTLE spot of mold on the top, that is why I want to know about the sour cream.

I've been in the same position many times. I have a disease that nearly ruined my health. But I was determined that I was not going to let that get in the way of my life! Learn something from each and everything that happens in your life. When it seems like life can't get any worse just remember you are not alone and you will get through it. My husband thinks I'm paranoid but I know we are being monitored by our computers, our cell phones, our bank accounts, our credit cards our SS cards you name we are under surveillance by the government every minute of the day. You should hire a web developer (like me!) Find one with the credentials you need to make it (for example, if you need dynamic data hire a programmer with experience in PHP). You will eventually have to share your idea with a developer but they probably wont steal it (developers fear managing websites, haha)! Your idea sounds like it may take a long time, need frequent updates, and require necessary changes so yes hire someone, like me! (haha)

Hi, I totally agree with your decision for your children. Every person has a right to make choices that affect their lives. We had a similar incident in our home I have 3 step children an18 year old boy and 2 girls 16 and 14, they 18 year old had just moved back in after a disagreement with his father that sent him with his mother to live. This poor excuse of a woman threw him out not to mention had not been in contact with us for 3 years to check on the girls but this was not new she was always moving and not letting us know where she was, the argument erupted when the 18 year old came back and found out his 16 year old sister was now refusing to call their mother mom she now calls her by her name.
