If everything in the Universe is God, as pantheists posit, what is the point of the construct?

I suppose it helps certain people get a grip on a largeness of it all. To imagine that everything is in some state of chaos, or at least perceived chaos, might be too much for some people to handle. So they take something they sort of understand, God in this case, and apply to broadly so they can try make sense of it all.
