Modern yarn equivalent?

I've been looking at vintage knitting patterns for evening gowns, as I am determined to make one for my wedding dress, and the several that I like all call for the same yarn: "Minerva Boucle Yarn." Has anyone come across this yarn before/tried a pattern, and knows of a modern equivalent?
