You are right petplan is the best insurance they are the only ones who cover for any illness or injury for the life of the dog the next best 3 are meant to be Morethan, Buddies and Marks and spencer. they cover for a certain amount no time limited all the others seem to cover a certain amount for only a year. Good pet insurnance is worth the money. It is one of those things you hope you never need but are glad you have it when you do. It means if you dog is every ill or injuried you only have to worry about getting the dog well not how you will pay for it. The cheaper the monthly payment the less the coverage. And it is so important you pick the right one as unlike things like car insurance it is not a good idea to keep swapping over as if you dog has had treatment before going with them for something and they see it as a ongoing problem or something they won't cover it. You are right about not just putting money aside every months as unless you can open the account with thousands of pounds not a good idea i mean you dog could become ill or injured before you have saved enough. But it is worth thinking of opening a special bank account for them. Pet insurnace doesn't usually cover dental work . And most dogs even if you do clean there teeth everyday will when they get older need a dental and they aren't cheap. I have recently opened a account for my dog and am putting money aside evey month that way when she does need one which is very likely i know i will have the money put aside which is a great comfort.
